Haematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HCST)

Haematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT), also known as bone marrow transplantation, is a medical procedure that involves the administration of healthy haematopoietic stem cells (blood stem cells) to patients with dysfunctional or depleted bone marrow. This procedure is used to generate functional cells that replace dysfunctional ones in cases like immune deficiency syndromes, hemoglobinopathies, blood cancers, and other blood diseases.
