The Karolinska Institutet and St Erik Eye Hospital are working on therapies for vision loss. This film highlights Anders Kvanta's and Fredrik Lanner's research on the macula - the area of the eye responsible for central vision. Many people today live with visual impairment due to the death of cells in the macula. This research will now make it possible to give patients healthy replacement cells grown from stem cells. The Erling-Persson Foundation is supporting this project with SEK 10 million over 3 years
